This page provides links to the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998, the Northern Ireland Act 1998 and associated delegated legislation made under powers granted by that Act which established the Northern Ireland Assembly. Subsequently, the Northern Ireland Act 2000 provided for the suspension of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
The Northern Ireland Act 2000 provided for the suspension of the Northern Ireland Assembly until Section 1 was repealed on 8 May 2007 by The Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Restoration of Devolved Government) Order 2007 (SI 2007/1397).
