The Welsh Ministers are designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community.

The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972.

Title, application and commencement

1.  The title of these Regulations is the Bluetongue (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2008; they apply in relation to Wales come into force on 19 June 2008.

Amendment

2.  In regulation 17 of the Bluetongue (Wales) Regulations 2008(3) the second reference to “Secretary of State” is deleted and replaced with “Welsh Ministers”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Bluetongue (Wales) Regulations 2008 (“the principal Regulations”) by replacing the second reference in regulation 17 of the principal Regulations to “the Secretary of State” with “the Welsh Ministers”.

S.I. 2005/2766. By virtue of sections 59(1) and 162 of and paragraphs 28 and 30 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006, functions conferred on the National Assembly for Wales are exercisable by the Welsh Ministers. Back [1]
